Man in Karakalpakstan kills his sister's husband with an axe

A woman in Karakalpakstan plotted to kill her husband due to ongoing disagreements. Unable to carry out the crime herself, she hired her brother to commit the murder. This case was reviewed by the Beruni District Criminal Court. QALAMPIR.UZ obtained details of the court's verdict.

According to the court documents, the woman had been living in constant conflict with her husband, leading her to plan his murder. Knowing she was not physically capable of committing the crime, she contacted her brother, who lived in Tashkent, asking him to handle the situation. The brother traveled to his sister’s house and spent several days searching for the right moment to carry out the act.

In the early hours of September 17, 2023, at 03:30, the brother, having ensured the dog was asleep, struck the victim's face and jaw with a 65-centimeter wooden axe, inflicting fatal injuries.

The court sentenced the husband of the deceased to 7 years in prison under Articles 28 and 97, Part 1, as well as Article 57 of the Criminal Code.

The brother was sentenced to 17 years in prison under Article 97, Clauses "v" and "j" of the Criminal Code. Both sentences will be served in a general-regime colony.

It is worth noting that earlier in Karakalpakstan, a man who killed his guest and cooked his organs for his cat was sentenced to 20 years in prison.
