18564Kyrgyzstan does not want to destabilize the situation on the border with Uzbekistan. This was announced by Defense Minister Baktibek Bekbolotov at a press conference in Bishkek, AKIpress reports.
According to him, the country’s leadership is trying to establish relations, delimit the state border, and settle disputed border areas.
“Now the situation with Uzbekistan is solved perfectly and we will benefit from it. Here begins the chaos in our society. Is this what we need? Now we do not need instability on the border with Uzbekistan,”- he said.
Bekbolotov also spoke about the reliability and prospects of the mobilization system of Kyrgyzstan.
According to him, in 2021 an unusual decision was made.
“Because of today’s combat operations... We must move away from the classic options, that Great Patriotic War, and so on. Today we have to look at the terrain, and the nature of the movements from a certain point of view. We have to prepare the reserve units. This year, a lot of work has been done in this direction. This year we have fulfilled the combat task before us, and this is thanks to the soldiers of the reserve. We have moved away from the classic version”, he said.
On 26 September, Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Abdullah Aripov visited Kyrgyzstan and signed the border agreement.
President of Kyrgyzstan Sadir Zhaparov later stated that official Bishkek had taken 99 percent of the disputed land and had not given it to Uzbekistan.
Earlier, Head of the State Committee for National Security Kamchibek Tashiyev said that Kyrgyzstan will receive more than 19 thousand hectares of land, and Uzbekistan – 4,485 hectares of land in the Kempirabad reservoir. It was agreed that the two countries would jointly manage the reservoir.
