During the meeting, Hasanov expressed that his actions symbolized the friendship and unity between the peoples of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan.
"The whole world has witnessed the support and solidarity between the peoples of Central Asia. Sports are often called ambassadors of peace, and you have played a significant role in strengthening our mutual harmony. I hope our solidarity continues to grow," Japarov stated.
The President also acknowledged the strong performance of Uzbek athletes at the Paris Olympics, highlighting Uzbekistan's recent focus on supporting sports.
"In the past three years, we have actively supported our athletes. Previously, there were instances where funds for competitions were not provided on time, but now the state ensures all necessary conditions, including providing essential vitamins," Japarov added.
He noted that Munarbek Seyitbek, the Olympic silver medalist, needed support as he went to Paris without a coach.
"In the past, our ancestors gifted horses to their heroes as a sign of recognition. Today, cars are customary gifts, but the essence of the tradition remains—it's a gesture of respect and gratitude for exceptional service," Japarov explained.
Akmal Hasanov expressed his appreciation to Japarov, mentioning that he had previously met Seyitbek's brother multiple times and had agreed to become his second coach without hesitation.
Hasanov also congratulated President Japarov and the Kyrgyz people on the victory, wishing Kyrgyz athletes success in winning gold at the next Olympic Games.
Earlier, coach Akmal Hasanov was awarded the international gold medal named after Chingiz Aitmatov, presented to him by the Kyrgyz Embassy in Uzbekistan.
