A remarkable archaeological discovery has been made in the Kashkadarya region, as experts from the Cultural Heritage Agency uncovered a stone tower believed to date back to the 8th-9th centuries. Located in the scenic Tatar mountains of the Yakkabog district, this ancient structure is shedding light on the region's rich historical heritage.

The tower, discovered by the cultural heritage department of Kashkadarya, is believed to have served as an observation point and possibly as a dwelling for followers of the ancient Zoroastrian faith. Its construction style closely resembles that of the renowned Mukanna fortress. During a meticulous examination of the tower, experts stumbled upon fascinating remnants of a water mill and molten metal objects in its vicinity, adding to the intrigue surrounding its purpose. Speculations range from its potential use as a military fortification to a supply base for industrial activities.

The significance of this newly discovered cultural heritage site is currently being investigated by the department, with researchers delving into its historical context and relevance. Once the studies are complete, further information will be made available to the public, shedding more light on the tower's enigmatic past.

Meanwhile, in another part of the region, Surkhandarya, a separate archaeological find has captured the attention of experts. At the ancient monument known as "Jarko’ton," estimated to be around 4000 years old, human graves have been unearthed. These burial sites contained an assortment of jewelry and pottery, offering a glimpse into the lives and customs of the ancient inhabitants of the area.

The discoveries in both Kashkadarya and Surkhandarya regions serve as testament to the historical wealth of Uzbekistan and the ongoing efforts to uncover its hidden treasures. The findings not only deepen our understanding of the past but also highlight the need for preservation and further exploration of these invaluable cultural heritage sites.
