It is noted that on September 11 of this year, the 58-year-old man who attempted to kill his wife was sentenced by the Yakkabog District Court for criminal cases. According to the court documents, the defendant, Yu.R., lived with his wife in the "Sherozi" neighborhood of Yakkabog District. He accused her of infidelity from 2014 to 2024, resulting in continuous conflict.
On April 22, 2024, at approximately 20:00, while under the influence of alcohol, Yu.R. overheard his wife talking on the phone while she was resting on a bench in the yard of their apartment building. He heard her say to her interlocutor, referring to her husband, "We will talk in the dirty house after he goes to work tomorrow."
Enraged, the husband intended to kill his wife. He took gasoline from a 1-liter plastic container in the yard, entered the house where his wife was sitting, and saw his three daughters-in-law, his minor son, and his grandchildren in a crib. He then splashed gasoline on her face and chest and brutally set her on fire.
The victim's daughter-in-law, G.R., who was present, extinguished the fire by pouring water on her and rushed her to the Yakkabog District Hospital in an ambulance.
According to the court verdict, the accused was found guilty of the crime under paragraphs "d" and "j" of Article 25 (preparation and attempt to commit a crime) and part 2 of Article 97 (Intentional Murder) of the Criminal Code. He was sentenced to 10 years of imprisonment.
We remind you that earlier in Jizzakh, a husband stabbed his wife at her workplace.
