Electric scooter malfunction sparks truck fire at Kamchik Pass

On April 11, a fire broke out on the A-373 "Tashkent–Osh" highway at Kamchik Pass in the direction of "Tashkent–Valley." The incident involved a Changan vehicle, according to the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

The fire occurred at 9:53 PM. According to the Ministry, the blaze was caused by a short circuit in the charger of an electric scooter stored in the vehicle’s cargo area.

Two firefighting and rescue crews arrived at the scene at 10:09 PM and successfully contained the fire at 10:11 PM. The flames were fully extinguished by 10:12 PM.

The fire caused significant damage to the vehicle’s interior and cargo area. However, quick actions saved 9 of the 18 bicycles and 1 of the 4 electric scooters stored in the cargo area. There were no injuries or fatalities reported as a result of the incident.

Note: On April 1, a Honda car at Kamchik Pass lost control and crashed into a roadside barrier before falling into a ditch.
