A passenger on a flight from Istanbul, Turkey to Tashkent International Airport was found to be carrying valuable and ancient books. This was reported by the Tashkent-Aero specialized customs complex.
It was noted that among the citizen's luggage, one large-volume ancient book with a brown leather cover and one small-volume book with a red cover were found, which had not been submitted to customs control on time.
According to the preliminary expert report, the estimated current value of the books is 320 million sums. An investigation is underway into this case.

It should be noted that in March of this year, a person was detained at Bukhara airport for illegally exporting jewelry made of precious metals and cultural treasures. A total of 37 pieces of jewelry weighing 226.04 grams, exceeding the export limit, as well as 16 historical badges and coins, were identified and temporarily detained as material evidence.
