Islamic Development Bank allocates money for slum schools in Uzbekistan

The Islamic Development Bank allocates funds for the construction and repair of schools in Uzbekistan. This was announced by the Ministry of Preschool and School Education.

It is noted that yesterday, February 22, a meeting was held between Minister Hilola Umarova and officials of the Islamic Development Bank.

During the meeting, the main tasks and plans for the use of funds planned to be allocated by the Islamic Development Bank were defined.

According to the results of the negotiations, it was agreed that funds will be allocated by the Islamic Development Bank for the implementation of construction works in schools, the construction of new schools, and gymnasiums.

It has been agreed that additional funds will be allocated by the Global Partnership for Education (GPE) organization for this area.

It should be reminded that 10 thousand 104 schools operating in the republic currently can provide services for 5.2 million students, but actually, 6.3 million students are studying in these schools.

The number of schools under repair is 1,250.
