Two Uzbek citizens who were wanted through Interpol channels were brought back to Uzbekistan from Turkey on March 26, the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported.

According to the report, a 40-year-old man from Khorezm identified as T.R. and a 38-year-old man from Tashkent identified as F.A. had committed large-scale fraud in Uzbekistan. After being placed on the international wanted list, they were located and detained in Turkey.

As a result of cooperation between the law enforcement agencies of Uzbekistan and Turkey, the two individuals were transferred to representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in accordance with established procedures and returned to Uzbekistan to face trial.

The Consulate General added that operational search measures and legal actions are ongoing to identify and detain other individuals who committed crimes in Uzbekistan and are hiding in Turkey.

“The Ministry once again reminds that it is impossible to evade responsibility by committing a crime in one’s home country and hiding abroad. Every crime will inevitably be followed by a fair court decision and appropriate punishment,” the statement said.

Earlier, another individual wanted through Interpol channels had been returned to Uzbekistan from the United Arab Emirates.
