A citizen who was on Interpol’s wanted list has been extradited from the United Arab Emirates to the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported.
According to the ministry, as a result of close cooperation between Interpol’s National Central Bureaus in Tashkent and Abu Dhabi, a citizen who had been placed on an international wanted list at the initiative of law enforcement agencies for committing fraud was extradited from the UAE to Uzbekistan.
The extradition was carried out through coordinated efforts between the competent authorities of the two countries and effective cooperation via Interpol channels. This operation was aimed at combating transnational crime and ensuring the inevitability of accountability.
The individual has now been handed over to the relevant authorities to face criminal liability and trial in accordance with the procedure established by law.
It is worth noting that earlier, another Uzbek national who had been internationally wanted through Interpol channels was extradited from Georgia.
