16030Recent social media reports have sparked concerns about the possible closure of the Inbazar store chain and the status of its employees. In response, the Tax Committee of Uzbekistan issued a statement clarifying the situation.
According to the committee's information, three business entities are currently operating under the Inbazar brand in Tashkent: "In Mag", "Go Trend", and "KDS Sales" LLC. These entities have officially employed 44 people, as reported in their tax filings. The tax authorities are tasked with ensuring compliance with tax laws, accurate tax calculations, and the full and timely payment of taxes and fees by these businesses.
So far in 2024, the Tax Committee has conducted 17 mobile tax inspections at these businesses, following buyer complaints filed through the Tax Partner feature in the Tax mobile app. Fines were imposed for any violations uncovered during these inspections.
Additionally, Inbazar LLC, which only has one employee, is not operational and is currently undergoing voluntary liquidation.
On a separate note, a recent incident involving an Inbazar store in Tashkent's Sergeli district gained attention when a staff member was assaulted by a colleague. The head of the Inbazar chain publicly condemned the violence and stated that the individual responsible would face punishment. Authorities have since taken action, and the person involved in the assault received a seven-day administrative prison sentence, while another employee who filmed the incident was sentenced to five days in administrative detention.
This incident has led to widespread social media backlash, with videos circulating showing Omadtillo Kholmatov, the manager of the Inbazar shopping center, physically assaulting employees. In multiple videos, Kholmatov can be seen beating staff members, verbally abusing them, and threatening further violence. These actions have prompted social media users to call for a boycott of Inbazar and its products, a movement that continues to gain momentum.
It is also important to note that an investigation has been launched into Kholmatov's actions.
In conclusion, while the Inbazar brand continues to operate, one of its affiliated LLCs is being liquidated, and the company is facing public backlash due to recent incidents involving management.
