Electricity and gas theft exposed in two regions

Cases of illegal use of energy resources have been uncovered in Namangan and Tashkent regions. The Department for Combating Economic Crimes under the Prosecutor General’s Office reported this.

According to the report, during a pre-investigation check conducted by the Department’s Uychi district division, it was found that an individual entrepreneur, D.A., had arbitrarily connected a shop located on the territory of Uychi Dehqon Bozori LLC directly to the public electricity network for commercial purposes and illegally used electricity worth 119.5 million soums.

In addition, in Urtachirchik district, citizen A.A. was found to have arbitrarily connected his home in the Burgalik mahalla directly to the natural gas network and illegally used natural gas worth 107.8 million soums.

A check conducted by the Department’s Davlatabad district division also found that citizen I.M. had arbitrarily connected to the natural gas network for commercial purposes and illegally used natural gas worth 99.8 million soums.

It was reported that criminal cases have been opened under the relevant articles of the Criminal Code, and investigative actions are underway.

Earlier, cases of electricity theft worth 3.1 billion soums in Yangiabad district of Jizzakh region, 137.1 million soums at a workshop in Buvayda, and 120.1 million soums at a household in Norin district had been detected.
