Diyora Keldiyorova was honored by IJF for Olympic Triumph

Uzbek judoka Diyora Keldiyorova, the Paris 2024 Olympic champion, has been awarded the Personality of the Year title by the International Judo Federation (IJF), the organization’s press service reported.

Keldiyorova received this prestigious award in recognition of her victory over Japanese judo star Uta Abe at the Paris 2024 Olympics. Additionally, her coach, German specialist Marco Spittka, was honored as the Best Women's National Team Coach of the Year.

IJF President Marius Vizer congratulated Keldiyorova and Spittka, wishing them continued success in their careers.

Notably, Diyora Keldiyorova is the first female athlete in Uzbekistan’s history to win an Olympic gold medal at the Summer Games. She also became the first Uzbek female judoka to secure an Olympic medal.
