23568Earlier, citing its sources, QALAMPIR.UZ reported that Colonel Shavkat Rahmonov, First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs and Head of the Rapid Search Department, had been dismissed. This has now been officially confirmed, and Colonel Ayubkhon Toshkhojaevich Rakhmatullaev has been appointed as the new First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan. The Ministry of Internal Affairs announced this on March 11.
According to the statement, Colonel Ayubkhon Toshkhojaevich Rakhmatullaev, who previously served as the head of the Andijan Regional Department of Internal Affairs, has been appointed to this position by decree of the President of Uzbekistan.
Additionally, by a presidential order, Colonel Ulugbek Shukhratovich Tashkhojaev has been appointed as the head of the Migration and Personalization Department under the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
These appointments were announced during an urgent meeting held on March 11 at the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The meeting focused on combating crime, stabilizing the criminogenic situation, and improving the protection of personal data. It was attended by representatives of the Presidential Administration, leaders of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and related services, as well as prosecutors and heads of internal affairs bodies from the Republic of Karakalpakstan, Tashkent city, and other regions.
Note: On March 3, it was reported that Pulat Bobojonov, who had served as Minister of Internal Affairs since 2017, was relieved of his duties. Aziz Toshpulatov, who previously headed the Tashkent City Main Department of Internal Affairs, was appointed as the new Minister of Internal Affairs.
