New head appointed to Fergana Regional Department of Internal Affairs

Former Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Ayubkhan Toshkhujaevich Rakhmatullayev has been appointed Head of the Fergana Regional Department of Internal Affairs. The regional administration reported this.

According to the statement, a meeting was held at the regional administration with the participation of Minister of Internal Affairs Aziz Tashpulatov, Fergana Region Governor Khayrullo Bozorov, and heads of law enforcement agencies, departments, and organizations. The meeting discussed the implementation of instructions issued at the video conference chaired by the president on January 27, particularly regarding the fight against organized crime, drug-related offenses, cybercrime, and the shadow economy, which pose direct threats to state and public security, as well as the current situation in Fergana Region.

Minister of Internal Affairs Aziz Tashpulatov paid special attention to the new system introduced on the example of Chilanzar District, its substance and objectives, and the issues related to effectively implementing this experience in Fergana Region.

While certain positive efforts in combating crime and preventing it at an early stage were noted, crime rates remain high in some areas. Shortcomings and mistakes in organizing work at the neighborhood level were criticized, and specific measures were identified to address existing problems through concrete examples.

During the meeting, it was announced that, in accordance with an order of the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Ayubkhan Toshkhujaevich Rakhmatullayev had been appointed Head of the Fergana Regional Department of Internal Affairs.

It was noted that Ayubkhan Rakhmatullayev replaced Azizbek Ikromov, who was appointed Minister of Emergency Situations on January 28.

Prior to this appointment, Ayubkhan Rakhmatullayev served as First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Head of the Operational Search Department.
