Due to a fire in the underground power cables near the Ministry of Internal Affairs building in Uzbekistan, public services related to passports and addresses have been disrupted. This information was shared by Sevara Orinboyeva, the press secretary for the Minister of Justice.

On June 10, Territorial Electric Networks JSC announced that the cable network from the 35/10/6 kV "Uzbekistan" substation had been damaged.

"Consumers have been switched to an alternate network until the situation is resolved. However, electricity has been disconnected for residents of the Konstitutsiya and Yunus Rajabiy neighborhoods in Yakkasaroy district, as well as Abdulla Avloniy and At-Termiziy neighborhoods in Mirobod district," the report stated.

Additionally, the Tashkent MDIA reported that technical maintenance is underway on the "Unified Automated Information System." As a result, there are service interruptions in the "Administrative Practice" and "Registration and Examination Department" systems within the Traffic Safety Department of Tashkent City MDIA.

The following systems are affected:

  • Issuance of ID cards to citizens of Uzbekistan, stateless persons, and foreign citizens permanently residing in Uzbekistan.
  • Registration of citizens, stateless persons, and foreign citizens by permanent residence address, as well as by temporary residence address.
  • Citizens of Uzbekistan are registered by permanent and temporary residence addresses.

It is worth noting that at 08:10 today, electric wires caught fire in an underground tunnel near the intersection of Afrosiyob and Sh. Rashidov streets in the Yakkasaroy district of Tashkent. Nine fire-rescue crews arrived at 08:15, contained the fire by 09:08, and extinguished it by 09:15.
