Minister of Internal Affairs appointed as Head of MMA Association

The Minister of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan, Aziz Toshpulatov, has been elected as the President of the Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) Association, the press service of the National Olympic Committee reported.
Previously, since August 2020, the association had been headed by the Minister of Defense, Bahodir Kurbonov.
Aziz Toshpulatov was also elected as the President of the Volleyball Federation of Uzbekistan in April of this year.
The Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) Association was established in 2019. Its first president was Otabek Umarov. According to him, the association was created to support martial arts athletes, helping them train and participate in competitions on their own initiative.
It is worth noting that earlier, Italian specialist Fabio Cannavaro was appointed as the head coach of the Uzbekistan national football team.
