Manchester City head coach Pep Guardiola took part in a conference held in Barcelona as part of a charity campaign in support of Palestine, according to The Canary.
Wearing a Palestinian scarf, Guardiola began his speech in Arabic, addressing the audience with the words, “Peace be upon you.” In his remarks, he spoke about the fate of Palestinian children who have lost their parents under the rubble of bombed homes.
“For the past two years, whenever I see on social media or television a child filming themselves among the ruins, asking, ‘Where is my mother?’ I always have the same thought. That child still does not know where their mother is,” the coach said.
Guardiola also sharply criticized political leaders, describing them as cowardly.
“Officials are cowards because they send innocent people to kill other innocent people, while they themselves sit comfortably in their homes, with heating in the cold and air conditioning in the heat,” Guardiola said.
It is worth noting that earlier, ahead of the charity friendly match between Catalonia and Palestine held on November 18, 2025, Pep Guardiola had urged fans to fill the stadium and stressed the importance of the match.
