France sends its new ambassador to Uzbekistan (video)

France has appointed Walid Fouque as its new ambassador to Uzbekistan. He officially assumed his duties on August 27, the French embassy reported.
The new ambassador, Walid Fouque, is an experienced diplomat and holds the rank of Minister Plenipotentiary, second class. He earned a degree in Public relations from the Paris Institute of Political Studies (Sciences Po). From 2010 to 2014, he worked at the Directorate for Strategic Affairs, security and disarmament of the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Also, he worked at the French Embassy in Beijing as a “Political adviser” (2014–2017), then at the permanent mission of France to the United Nations in New York (2017–2019). Afterwards, he returned to the Central administration as the director for the Far East in the Asia and Oceania department (2019–2020).
From 2020 to 2025, Walid Fouque served as the adviser to the President of the French Republic on Asia, Oceania, and the Americas.
As of August 27, 2025, he has assumed the post of ambassador of France to Uzbekistan.
The new ambassador replaced Aurélia Bouchez, who served as France’s Ambassador to Uzbekistan from October 2021 to August 2025.
It is worth noting that the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, awarded the ambassador of France, Aurélia Bouchez, the “Dustlik” (Friendship) order for her significant contribution to strengthening relations of friendship and strategic partnership between the two countries on August 14.
