Fergana - The Regional Department of Internal Affairs has identified an individual who unlawfully sold 14 hectares of land in Fergana for $140,000 without proper documentation.

Following an urgent request submitted by a 26-year-old citizen in Kuvasoy, an investigation was initiated to uncover the truth.  It was revealed that the land, originally leased to a horticultural farm in the village of Kochkor, Kuvasoi, had been sold by a Russian citizen from Kyrgystan, with no legal documents supporting the transaction.

The Russian citizen was caught red-handed while receiving an advance payment of $15,000 providing concrete evidence of the illicit activity.

The ongoing investigation aims to uncover the current situation and identify any additional individuals involved.  Regrettably, similar incidents have recently been reported.  In the Nurabad district of the Samarkand region, land was sold for $120,000, while in the Mirzo Ulugbek district of Tashkent city, a parcel of land changed hands for $20,000.  Additionally, in the Tortkol district of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, land was sold for $14,000.

The authorities are diligently working to address these cases and ensure the proper enforcement of land ownership regulations.
