A 17-year-old boy died from injuries sustained in a collision involving his teacher's Damas vehicle in the Altiarik district of Fergana region. The Fergana regional Road Safety Department confirmed the tragic incident.
On January 30, during a raid, a report was filed against M.G., born in 2004, for driving his uncle's BYD Song EV car without proper documentation. Based on Resolution No. 149 of the Cabinet of Ministers, traffic police inspector Safdor R.Q. took action. Shortly thereafter, H.N. A.S., a teacher who had knowingly allowed the minor to drive the car despite his lack of a driver's license, let the boy drive a Damas vehicle. The boy drove onto a main road from a secondary one in the "Kapchugay" neighborhood, resulting in a traffic accident.
As a result of the crash, H.N., the driver of the Damas, sustained injuries and later died in the hospital despite efforts to save him. Investigators are currently taking preliminary actions in connection with the case.
Hayot Shamsutdinov, the press secretary of the Prosecutor General's Office, stated that a criminal case has been opened under Article 266 of the Criminal Code for violating traffic safety regulations. The investigation is ongoing.
This tragedy follows an earlier incident in which an 8-year-old boy was killed after being struck by a Damas vehicle in the Karakhan mahalla of the Termez district in the Surkhandarya region.
