A fake employee of the Department of Internal Affairs was caught in Fergana

A person posing as a police officer was arrested in Uzbekistan district of Fergana region.  This was reported by the Press Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

It is reported that he entered a household service store wearing the uniform of a police officer.  There, he stole a mobile phone worth 1,800,000 soms, taking advantage of the carelessness of the store owner.

After that, he committed several more robberies.  He allegedly embezzled people’s money and phones while posing as a lieutenant.  In another case, he went to a butcher’s shop in uniform and stole 2 kg of meat from the butcher.

The title of special lieutenant, the uniform of the Internal Affairs Department officer and the mobile phone were taken from him as evidence.

In connection with this situation, a criminal case was initiated under Article 169, Part 3, Clause “a” (theft) of the Criminal Code.  An investigation is currently underway.
