Red Book eagle rescued in Fergana during illegal trade operation

2541A man in the Quva district of the Fergana region was apprehended while attempting to sell a rare eagle listed in Uzbekistan’s Red Book. The news was shared by the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change.
Details of the Incident: Officials conducted a rapid operation in Quva district, where it was discovered that citizen I.N. had illegally listed the sale of a Red Book eagle on Telegram. Following the operation, the necessary documentation was prepared, and the eagle was confiscated from the individual as material evidence. The bird has been temporarily housed at the Fergana regional zoo.
Additionally, administrative action has been taken against the suspect under Article 92 of Uzbekistan's Administrative Liability Code, which pertains to violating rules on wildlife protection, trade, relocation, acclimatization, and crossbreeding. The individual was fined 1,875,000 UZS—equivalent to five base calculation amounts.
Earlier, in the Sirdaryo region, authorities reported the illegal possession of another eagle listed in the Red Book.
