In Ferghana, it was discovered that cannabis is being grown on land allocated for planting peppers. This was reported by the Information Service of the Regional Internal Affairs Department.

According to the report, on July 7 of this year, during a swift operation conducted by the Criminal Investigation Department of the IIB in the Altiariq District of Fergana Region, a 38-year-old resident named "Jonibek" from MFY "O.I.I." was found to have rented 3 hectares of land belonging to the farm for the purpose of planting peppers and potatoes. The investigation revealed that the individual had planted and cared for a total of 1405 cannabis plants on an area of land measuring 40 meters long and 5 meters wide.

During the inspection of the citizen's house, with the involvement of neutrals, the individual voluntarily handed over dried and packed cannabis plant leaves in three 1-liter and one 0.5-liter glass containers to the IIO staff.

"In May 2023, I bought land to plant peppers. I sprinkled cannabis seeds to prevent anyone from entering. I am aware of the illegality, and it will not happen again," said the citizen.

It has been reported that the necessary documents regarding the above cases have been prepared accordingly, and the investigations are ongoing.
