10215A 46-year-old man’s body was discovered in a ditch in the city of Ferghana, according to Hayat Shamsutdinov, the press secretary of the General Prosecutor's Office, who spoke with QALAMPIR.UZ.
On November 2, at approximately 8:30 a.m., the body was found in a ditch along Charogon Street in the "Chekshora" neighborhood of Ferghana City. The investigative team led by the city prosecutor conducted a thorough inspection of the scene and the body but found no signs of injury or evidence related to suspicious circumstances.
The deceased, identified as a resident of the "Ilgor" community in Ferghana City, originally hailed from the Rishton district and was born in 1978.
Preliminary forensic examination determined that the cause of death was mechanical asphyxiation due to water blocking the airways; no injuries were noted. The Ferghana City Prosecutor’s Office has launched an investigation into the incident.
This discovery follows another recent tragic case where the body of a 19-year-old Uzbek man was found in an apartment on Peyzaj Street in St. Petersburg, Russia. The young man, originally from Tashkent and recently a Russian citizen, was found with a wound to the heart. He had been staying with a 20-year-old woman from St. Petersburg, who informed authorities that they had rented the apartment and had been discussing plans while drinking that evening.
