Kokand apartment fire caused by gas-air mixture explosion

Today, March 12, a gas-air mixture explosion occurred in one of the multi-story buildings in Kokand, Fergana region, followed by a fire. This was reported by the regional Emergency Situations Department.

According to the report, at 12:58 PM, information was received about a fire in an apartment in a multi-story building located in the Mustaqillik neighborhood of Kokand city.

Fire and rescue crews arrived at the scene at 1:04 PM, contained the fire by 1:06 PM, and fully extinguished it by 1:10 PM.

As a result of the incident, two individuals sustained burn injuries and were hospitalized.

“No fatalities were reported,” the statement said.

It was determined that the fire was caused by the explosion of a gas-air mixture.

As a reminder, earlier, an explosion of a gas-air mixture occurred in the laboratory of the 25th workshop of the “Navoi Azot” joint-stock company in Navoi city, Navoi region. That explosion resulted in a fire and the death of one individual.
