In the Yazyavan district of the Fergana region, a 46-year-old man, A.V., was fined 17 million sums by the court for assaulting and causing bodily harm to a 77-year-old man, A.A., in a public place. This was reported by the Fergana regional department of the Compulsory Enforcement Bureau.
According to the report, the two individuals are relatives. A.V., who was intoxicated at the time, encountered A.A. at a local market. During their conversation, A.A. asked, "Did you send your wife on an Umrah pilgrimage?" This question provoked A.V., leading him to physically assault the elderly man.
"According to the court decision, A.V. was fined 17 million sums. Following the arrival of the enforcement document at the Yazyavan district department of the Compulsory Enforcement Bureau, bailiffs conducted numerous explanatory talks with A.V. Initially, he refused to pay the fine, claiming that he had only 'given medicine to an old man'," the statement said.
It was reported that, due to the persistent efforts of the bailiffs, A.V. paid the fine in full on April 24 of this year, and the enforcement proceedings were completed.
It is worth recalling that earlier, in the Mirzo Ulugbek district of Tashkent city, an 18-year-old girl was beaten on the street by a 22-year-old man with whom she had a relationship. In that case, the Investigation Department of the Mirzo Ulugbek district IAD initiated a criminal case under Article 277 (Hooliganism) of the Criminal Code.
