More than 6,000 potent medicines seized in Fergana

More than 6,000 potent medicines were seized during operational measures carried out by State Security Service officers in cooperation with internal affairs and customs authorities, the State Security Service reported.

According to the agency, the illegal circulation of synthetic drugs and potent medicines, which are cheaper than traditional narcotic substances, has increased recently. Such substances are mainly smuggled in from neighboring countries and sold secretly.

In Fergana, a resident born in 1974 was found to be keeping 3,580 Regapen tablets at his home for future sale. The tablets were seized as physical evidence.

In another case, a Lacetti car driven by a resident of Kokand born in 1990 was stopped and inspected while traveling on the Kokand-Tashkent route. During the inspection, officers found 2,520 Regapen tablets hidden inside the vehicle.

Criminal cases have been opened in both cases, and investigative actions are underway.

Earlier, an illegal medicine production workshop operating in Andijan was exposed.
