On January 14, Palestine’s newly appointed ambassador to Uzbekistan, Wael Ahmed Battrekhi, presented copies of his credentials to Uzbekistan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bakhtiyor Saidov. The information was announced by Saidov on his Telegram channel.

According to him, the meeting focused on issues related to developing Uzbekistan–Palestine relations in both bilateral and multilateral formats.

“We agreed to further strengthen friendly relations and constructive dialogue between our countries. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan is ready to support His Excellency the Ambassador throughout his diplomatic mission in our country,” Bakhtiyor Saidov said.

For reference, Wael Ahmed Battrekhi has replaced Jawad Mohammad Awad as the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the State of Palestine to Uzbekistan. Jawad Mohammad Awad had been appointed to the post in April 2022.

It is worth noting that earlier, new ambassadors of Italy and Belgium to Uzbekistan were also appointed.
