US authorities have released documents related to financier and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, in which a pro-Ukraine activist identified as G.O. is mentioned. According to the published records, she had personal interactions with Epstein and received financial support from him. The documents also note that Epstein introduced her to some of his acquaintances, who provided additional financial assistance.
G.O. was born in Samarkand and studied in Tashkent. She gained recognition in 2014 for participating in a pro-Ukraine rally in Kyiv against the government, which at the time was moving closer to Russia. She later collaborated with a prominent publication. In an interview given nearly ten years ago, she said she lived in the Chilonzor district, studied e-commerce at Westminster University in Tashkent and Staffordshire University in Kuala Lumpur, completed a film directing course in Paris, and worked as a regional manager and translator for a construction company, as well as an English tutor.
She has also shared her views on the former Soviet Union, stating in an interview that she had no personal or emotional connection to it.
“I know it was a unique social system: everyone was very disciplined, tight-knit, and atheist. Foreign music was not allowed, and there was no ‘sexual life’ there. I did not like the politics or economy of the Soviet Union. I think it would not have led to anything good,” she said.
According to Epstein’s released correspondence, G.O.’s main goal at the time was to earn money and travel to the West. In a message dated August 30, 2014, she wrote, “There is a big problem in Uzbekistan – everyone wants to leave.”
The documents indicate that G.O. had personal interactions with Epstein. They also show that Epstein prepared her for certain meetings with his acquaintances, where she was expected to present herself in a favorable manner.
In a message to Epstein dated December 11, 2014, she wrote about preparing for a meeting: “I am putting all my effort into appearing attractive to you and your friends. No makeup, no adornments. Good girl. Smart girl. Ha-ha.”
The documents further show that G.O. received money from Epstein. These funds were delivered by his assistant, Valdson Cotrin, who managed one of Epstein’s Paris properties in July 2014 and January 2015. According to Epstein, 500 euros of the amount went to one of his friends.
In interviews, G.O. stated that she studied cinematography in Paris. However, she did not mention that Epstein’s lawyer, Leslie Groff, had facilitated her travel and assisted with visa arrangements. American journalists note that Groff was one of Epstein’s most trusted associates and handled highly sensitive matters for him.
G.O. was also present at Epstein’s controversial Paris apartments. In 2019, French authorities conducted a raid at these locations for suspected operation of a brothel and crimes involving minors.
Journalist Aziza Qurbanova of Uzbekistan 24 reported encountering certain facts about the case. She noted that the US Department of Justice had automated the redaction of names, addresses, and contact information, but many pages still contained personal data of individuals who interacted with Epstein, leaving some details publicly accessible.
Qurbanova described G.O. as a very young, driven, and inquisitive individual, eager to study and explore the world, highly observant, determined, and knowledgeable. Although excluded from formal education, she did not pursue “easy money” and took no other shortcuts. Qurbanova said that G.O.’s story reflects the portrait of Uzbekistan 14–15 years ago.
A few days later, Qurbanova located G.O.’s updated social media profile, showing that she is now living a quiet life in Uzbekistan and has recently worked as an English teacher.
“I confirmed her identity by matching the courses listed on her profile with the payments recorded in the Epstein files. I feel relieved. One of our compatriots has not disappeared into the world of a notorious figure like Epstein,” Qurbanova said.
Jeffrey Epstein died in August 2019 under unclear circumstances. Investigations in the US and Europe have described him as operating a secret sexual network for influential political figures. His connections reportedly included former US presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush, as well as former President Donald Trump.
Epstein was known for providing minors and restricted substances to clients. Some episodes of his criminal activity may also be linked to violent crimes.
