Now some schools are set to instruct subjects using a foreign language

The introduction of teaching various subjects in a foreign language has been implemented in specialized educational institutions in Uzbekistan. This initiative was formally established through a presidential decree issued on April 1.

As per the decree, beginning from the academic year 2024-2025, specialized schools within the jurisdiction of the Agency of Specialized Educational Institutions will implement the following measures:

- Introducing the practice of teaching subjects in a foreign language by educators holding a minimum B2 level certificate in the respective language.
- Providing an additional monthly bonus of 100 percent to teachers conducting classes in mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, natural sciences, informatics, and information technologies in a foreign language, compared to the standard tariff rate.
- Implementing a new payment procedure for local teachers in presidential schools, entailing an extra monthly bonus of 350 percent of their tariff rate.
Furthermore, educators are eligible for overtime compensation under the following conditions:

- Successful completion of three courses (Introductory, Extension, Marking) focused on teaching subjects based on international education programs by Cambridge (Cambridge Assessment International Education) and obtaining the relevant certification.
- Possession of at least one year of teaching experience in presidential schools, along with an international certificate of at least C1 level or an equivalent proficiency level in a foreign language.
