Unjustified debt of approximately 90 million sums was cancelled by electricity supply company

Several enterprises operating in the city of Gulistan raised concerns to the Regional Office of the Competition Committee of the Syrdarya Region, claiming that the electricity supply company had unjustly imposed debts on them. Upon investigation, it was discovered that the electricity supply company had calculated an unjustified debt amounting to approximately 90 million sums. This information was provided by the Committee for the Development of Competition and Protection of Consumer Rights.

The investigation revealed that the electricity company had imposed a debt of 93,035,577 sums on "Kryogen-service" LLC and 3,180,267 sums on OK "Bistro Lazzat" through erroneous recalculations.

According to the committee's report, it was determined that the service company had paid its electricity bills on time, but due to an unjustified increase in tariffs, debts of 86,300,129.5 sums and 3,180,267 sums were falsely attributed to "Kryogen-servis" LLC and OK "Bistro Lazzat," respectively.

The investigation also uncovered that the Guliston City Electric Networks Enterprise, a subsidiary of JSC "Ukrainian Electric Networks" Syrdarya Branch, had abused its dominant market position in violation of Article 18, Part 1 of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On Competition."

The unjustified debt, totaling approximately 90 million sums, was voluntarily annulled by the Guliston City Electric Networks, Syrdarya branch of JSC "Territory Electric Networks," following the investigation and recalculations.

It is worth noting that a previous case involved the cancellation of over 4.173 billion sums in unjustified debts, which had been calculated for services not provided by the State Department of Production of "Heat Source" in the Fergana region.
