Iranian Embassy responds: “Zionists are jealous of Iran’s progress”

On June 24, U.S. President Donald Trump announced that Iran and Israel had reached a ceasefire agreement. However, military operations from both sides continued. Notably, Iran was launching strikes on the Israeli city of Beersheba.

Shortly afterward, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi stated that Iran would halt its retaliatory strikes if Israel ceased its operations. In response, President Trump again affirmed the ceasefire and called on both sides to respect it.

Despite the announcement, reports soon emerged that Iran had launched another missile toward Israel. In turn, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz ordered a retaliatory strike against Iran.

On the same day, the Iranian Embassy in Tashkent held a press conference, attended by QALAMPIR.UZ. During the event, the acting representative of the Iranian Embassy in Uzbekistan, Hossein Parvarish, harshly criticized international organizations, particularly the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), for their role in the escalation.

“Had these organizations merely remained silent, the situation might not have reached this point. But they went beyond silence. For instance, the IAEA, through its baseless and unsubstantiated reports over the past 15 days, essentially paved the way for Israeli and U.S. aggression against Iran’s facilities,” Parvarish stated.

According to him, the real issue for the United States and Israel is not Iran’s nuclear program, but rather the Islamic Republic’s growing achievements in science, industry, agriculture, and other sectors, despite decades of sanctions.

“Their main goal is not Iran’s nuclear program but Iran’s progress,” he added.

Parvarish also criticized President Trump, accusing him of betraying international law, the Islamic Republic of Iran, and even the American voters who supported him.

“Trump campaigned on a platform of peace. People voted for him hoping he would bring an end to conflicts. But after taking office, he did the opposite—he ignited new flashpoints of war.

Trump promised to end the Ukraine-Russia war, stop the bloodshed in Gaza, and resolve the Iranian nuclear issue. But look at what has happened—each situation has worsened,” he said.

Parvarish argued that Iran’s conflict with Israel is not just a national concern but a global one, given Israel’s repeated violations of international law and disregard for international institutions.

“I believe the international community must unite in condemning these actions, to prevent further escalation and to stop new nations from being dragged into conflict,” he urged.

The Iranian diplomat also emphasized the strength of Iran’s response to the recent attacks by Israel and the United States.

“We have shown that the Islamic Republic of Iran is not limited to a single type of modern weapon. Our response was multifaceted, utilizing various advanced defense capabilities. Iran can defend its sovereignty with a comprehensive arsenal and coordinated countermeasures,” he concluded.
