Excavator driver fined 28 million soums for damaging tree

3713An excavator operator in Tashkent's Mirobod district has been fined 28 million soums for damaging a tree, according to the Mirobod district administration's press service.
Social media reports yesterday highlighted damage to trees near the former "Bukhara" cafe in Mirobod district. In response, the district's environmental department conducted on-site investigations.
The investigation revealed that a maple tree was damaged due to the negligence of excavator operator B.B. during construction in front of 124 St. The incident resulted in the tree being knocked over.
Consequently, a fine of 28,390,000 soums was imposed on B.B., in accordance with Article 79, Part 1 of the Code of Administrative Responsibility of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Additionally, it is worth noting that in Samarkand, four valuable trees and one less valuable tree were previously destroyed by an LLC during construction activities in the area.
