Case of the defendant's brother's death by beating is under the Ombudsman's supervision

7791Earlier, it was reported that the defendant's brother died after being beaten by DIA officers in Bekobod, Tashkent region. Following this, the Ministry of Internal Affairs extended condolences to the deceased's family.
The brothers D.Yu. were forcibly taken to the DIA building, where force was used against them. This information was reported by the Human Rights Representative (Ombudsman) of the Oliy Majlis.
A forensic examination has been appointed to determine the cause of the citizen's death. The Tashkent Regional Prosecutor's Office is investigating the case.
The Ombudsman's regional representative in Tashkent met with the deceased's family and expressed condolences. A control letter from the Ombudsman has been sent to the Prosecutor General's Office.
"The Ombudsman requests that this case be handled in accordance with the law, with a thorough and transparent investigation of all aspects," the report stated.
On June 19, the Bekobod city court charged 33-year-old H.Yu. and sent the collected documents for further consideration. During the trial, the accused's brothers, D.Yu. (born 1981) and D.Yu. (born 1978), started a fight in the courtroom out of dissatisfaction with the prison sentence, causing a public disturbance.
To restore public order and ensure safety, regional internal affairs officers were called to the courtroom. The altercation was resolved by three DIA prevention inspectors, and the involved individuals were taken to the DIA building to prepare documents related to the violation.
Upon arrival at the DIA building, D.Yu. lost consciousness due to deteriorating health.
According to the General Directorate of Internal Affairs of the Tashkent region, the officers took D.Yu. to the city hospital in a service car, where medical staff pronounced him dead.
