All border control functions will be transferred to the Customs Committee. This was stated at a meeting on export, investment, and local industry tasks in 2024 chaired by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

Currently, the export of fruits, vegetables, and food is controlled by four agencies at the border, namely customs, quarantine, SES, and veterinary authorities. Although all the required certificates and permits are fully digitized, the inspectors only check the documents.

Therefore, during the meeting, it was determined that all control functions at the border will be transferred to the Customs Committee.

Additionally, two years ago, a new procedure for processing goods under the customs regime was introduced. In the past period, 254 enterprises started working in this system, resulting in an export of 1.1 billion dollars.

Eighty-three percent of them are accounted for by entrepreneurs in Andijan, Bukhara, Syrdarya, Tashkent region, and Tashkent city. However, in Karakalpakstan, Jizzakh, Surkhandarya, and Khorezm, such exports did not even reach 10 million dollars.

It was emphasized that the leaders of these regions should ensure the export of 500 million dollars through customs processing.
