Earlier, a preventive inspector of the Internal Affairs Department (IAD) in the Vobkent district of Bukhara region rescued a woman who had jumped into a river. The officer has now been promoted to the rank of major. This was reported by the spokesperson of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Shohrukh Giyosov.
According to the ministry’s representative, by order of the Minister of Internal Affairs, Captain Amrillo Rasulov was awarded the special rank of major ahead of schedule for his courage, determination, and dedication to his profession demonstrated in an emergency situation.
“He threw himself into the icy river water and, in the final moments, saved the life of a mother of four who was attempting suicide. By risking his own life and showing true selflessness, Inspector Amrillo Temir ogli Rasulov, a captain serving in the Crime Prevention Unit of the Public Security Service of the Vobkent District Internal Affairs Department, was duly rewarded,” Giyosov wrote.
It is noted that on January 29 at around 4:30 p.m., Rasulov noticed a woman jumping into the river. He immediately rushed to rescue her, pulled her out onto the riverbank, and promptly called emergency medical services, after which she was taken to hospital.
