A person who attempted to transport historical coins out of the country was apprehended in Bukhara. The regional customs department reported this incident.
It is reported that the individual was traveling on the Bukhara-Vnukovo flight. During the customs inspection at the border customs checkpoint, their luggage was scanned using the inspection system. As a result, a total of 96 historical coins were discovered in the luggage.
These coins were not documented in any relevant paperwork and were not disclosed during the oral questioning by the customs officer.
Following this, in order to determine the age and authenticity of the numismatic items, the regional cultural heritage department commissioned an artistic evaluation and initiated an investigation.
For your information, the "Law on the Import and Export of Cultural Assets" prohibits the export of numismatic items over 50 years old from the country.
