The sale of substandard and unregistered medicines has been prevented in the Bukhara district of the Bukhara region. This was reported by the State Security Service.

According to the agency, during an inspection of the apartment of a 40-year-old resident of the Bukhara district and a vehicle connected to him, authorities discovered 978 boxes of medicines of unguaranteed quality and lacking proper documentation. Among them were drugs such as" Imudon", "Cerebrolysin", "Dopamine", and "Maalox"—a total of 78 different types, which were seized by legal procedures.

During the investigation, it was established that a 63-year-old resident of Bukhara was his accomplice. The State Security Service noted that if the operation had not been disrupted, these medicines would have been distributed through pharmacies in the city of Bukhara, as well as the Shofirkon, Peshku, and Romitan districts.

A criminal case has been initiated under Article 25,186³, Part 2, Clause “b” of the Criminal Code (about the illegal production, acquisition, storage, transport, or sale of substandard or counterfeit medical products, including violations in prescription drug sales). Investigative actions are ongoing.

According to the conclusion of the "Center for the Safety of Pharmaceutical Products", 32 of the seized drugs are not registered in the state registry, 57 lack certificates of conformity, 6 are of poor quality, and 4 are counterfeit. Moreover, the medicines were stored under improper conditions. As a result, their sale, storage, and use are strictly prohibited in Uzbekistan.

It is worth noting that a similar case occurred recently in the Tashkent region, where an individual was detained for attempting to sell homemade, low-quality pharmaceutical products.
