A man was detained in Fergana region while allegedly attempting to sell more than 2 kilograms of hashish and 5,600 psychotropic pills smuggled from Kyrgyzstan. The State Security Service reported the case.
During an operation conducted by the Fergana regional department of the State Security Service in cooperation with internal affairs and customs authorities, a Damas vehicle travelling in Kokand was stopped. The vehicle, driven by a resident of Fergana district born in 1995, was inspected in the presence of witnesses. Officers found 2 kilograms and 40 grams of hashish, as well as 5,600 Regapen strong-acting pills, inside the vehicle.
A pre-investigation inquiry found that the man had planned to sell the narcotic substances in Kokand after receiving them from a criminal partner in the Kyrgyz Republic.
A criminal case has been opened against him under Articles 246, 251-1 and 273 of the Criminal Code, which cover smuggling, the illegal circulation of strong-acting substances, and the illegal preparation, acquisition, storage and other actions involving narcotic drugs, their analogues or psychotropic substances with intent to sell, as well as their illegal sale. He has been placed in custody.
Earlier, it was reported that a man had been detained in Urgut while allegedly selling 1 kilogram of hashish for $9,300.
