Fire breaks out on main gas pipeline in Bukhara

11032Today, February 10, a fire broke out following a gas leak on a 1020-mm main gas pipeline passing through the Bukhara region, the Ministry of Energy reported.
"Currently, all necessary measures are being taken to address the situation. There were no casualties or injuries as a result of the fire," the ministry's statement read.
According to the Bukhara Regional Emergency Management Department, the incident occurred at 11:26 a.m. on the 106th kilometer of the underground Bukhara-Ural gas pipeline, which operates at 26 kg pressure and is connected to the GAZLI gas storage facility. The nearest populated area, Kyzylrabot neighborhood in the Romitan district, is 40 km away.
Emergency teams swiftly responded to the situation, closing the pipeline valves at 11:30 a.m. The release of residual gas was observed before the fire was fully extinguished.
"The accident has now been completely eliminated. The regional emergency department, the head of the Romitan district emergency team, and a fire and rescue crew arrived at the scene. There were no injuries or fatalities," the statement confirmed.
