Explosion hits multi-storey residential building in Bukhara, leaving two injured

An explosion occurred today, January 31, in a two-storey residential building in the Tinchlik mahalla of Qorako‘l District, Bukhara Region, the regional Department of Emergency Situations reported.

According to the statement, at 08:23 the Emergency Situations Department received a report of a gas-air mixture ignition in one of the apartments of a two-storey building located on Sho‘robod Street in the Tinchlik mahalla.

Rescue teams from the Ministry of Emergency Situations, along with other relevant services, arrived at the scene. Efforts are currently under way to eliminate the consequences of the incident.

Preliminary information suggests that the ignition may have occurred due to gas leakage while a gas stove was in use.

As a result of the incident, two individuals sustained injuries and were taken to hospital. No fatalities have been reported.

It is worth noting that earlier a fire broke out in a three-storey building in Tashkent’s Sergeli District, with no injuries reported.
