12-year-old girl dies after falling into well in Bukhara

On April 15, a third-grade student from School No. 28 in the Olat district of the Bukhara region tragically died after falling into a well. The incident was confirmed by Hayot Shamsutdinov, press secretary of the Prosecutor General’s Office, in response to an inquiry from QALAMPIR.UZ.

According to the report, at approximately 14:00 on April 15, the student accidentally fell into an old well located in the yard of a house near the school. Sadly, the girl did not survive. A school security guard who attempted to rescue her also fell into the well, sustained serious injuries, and was hospitalized at the district medical unit.

Authorities noted that responsible officials and members of the investigative team arrived at the scene to conduct a thorough investigation.

"The scene of the incident was examined, a sample of the black swampy liquid inside the well was collected, an external examination of the body was conducted at the district medical association, and a forensic examination has been initiated," the statement by Hayot Shamsutdinov read.

It should be recalled that a similar incident was previously reported in the Payarik district of the Samarkand region, where a 16-year-old boy died while cutting down a tree.
