4.4 magnitude earthquake occurs in Bukhara

6029Today, on August 2, an earthquake with a magnitude of 4.4 was reported by the Republican Center for Seismological Prognostic Monitoring of MES.
The earthquake occurred at 10:39 local time. The epicenter was located in the Gijduvan district of the Bukhara region, at coordinates 40.42 degrees north latitude and 65.19 degrees east longitude. The magnitude was measured at M=4.4, and the depth of the earthquake was 10 km. The epicenter was situated 351 km southwest of Tashkent.
The perceived intensity in various parts of the Republic of Uzbekistan was as follows:
- 2-3 points in the Navbahor district, 28 km away;
- 2 points in the Gijduvan district, 35 km away;
- 2 points in the city of Navoi, 39 km away;
- 2 points in the Karmana district, 44 km away.
It is worth noting that the earthquake that occurred in Tajikistan on July 8 was also felt in Uzbekistan.
