Two coins were successfully removed from the throat of a 2-year-old boy born in 2023 at the Karakul District Medical Association in the Bukhara region, the regional Health Department reported.

The boy was brought to the emergency department after a foreign object became lodged in the upper esophageal stricture, a situation attributed to negligence.

A team of highly qualified doctors on duty provided urgent medical assistance. Using modern medical equipment, they performed a high-tech, minimally invasive surgical procedure that saved the child’s life.

“Currently, the patient’s condition is stable and satisfactory under close medical supervision,” the report states.

Earlier, a similar case occurred in Fergana, where doctors removed 135 magnetic spheres from the stomach of a 2-year-old girl. The girl had swallowed the magnetic balls while playing, which accumulated in her stomach and posed a serious health risk. Surgery was performed to safely remove the objects and save her life.
