The assistant to the governor of Peshku district in the Bukhara region was caught taking a \$6,000 bribe, the State Security Service reported.
According to the report, the assistant, using his official position in the mahalla citizens’ assembly, entered seven acres of land from the government reserve into the “K-savdo” automated information system and demanded \$6,000 from a citizen in exchange for ensuring its purchase through online auctions. An entrepreneur from Peshku district filed a complaint about the official’s illegal actions on September 10.
In a subsequent emergency operation, the assistant to the governor was detained with material evidence while receiving the money through a third party.
A criminal case has been initiated against him under Article 210, Part 2, Clause “c” of the Criminal Code. A preventive measure of arrest has been applied, and investigations are ongoing.
It should be noted that earlier, a senior assistant to a judge of the Civil Judicial Board of the Andijan Regional Court was caught taking a bribe of 3 million 800 thousand soums.
