The mayor of Bukhara has been replaced, as announced by the regional government's press service.

An extraordinary session of the Bukhara City Council of People's Deputies convened today, May 1. During the session, Regional Governor Botir Zaripov disclosed that Jamol Nosirov, who had been leading Bukhara, cited health reasons for requesting to be relieved from his position.

Subsequently, the regional governor announced the resolution dismissing Jamol Nosirov from the mayoral role.

Qurbon Ibragimovich Tursunov, previously leading the heat supply operations and development department at the Ministry of Construction and Housing and Communal Economy, was appointed as the new mayor of Bukhara.

It's worth noting that Jamol Nosirov assumed the mayoral position in Bukhara in May 2021, following his tenure as the first deputy minister of culture.
