Uzbekistan begins its participation in the World Cup today

Today, November 5, the Uzbekistan U-17 national team led by Islombek Ismoilov will play its opening match at the World Cup taking place in Qatar. In their first group stage match, Uzbekistan’s youth team will face Paraguay. The game will kick off at 18:00 Tashkent time.

Uzbekistan’s U-17 team is placed in Group “J” of the mini World Cup, which features 48 teams in total. The team will play its next match against Ireland on November 8, and the final group-stage match against Panama on November 11.

For reference, at the 2023 FIFA U-17 World Cup held in Indonesia, the Uzbekistan youth team, under the leadership of Jamoliddin Rahmatullaev, reached the quarterfinals. In that stage, the Uzbekistan U-17 national team was defeated by France U-17.

It is worth noting that earlier, the Uzbekistan U-17 national team led by Islombek Ismoilov announced its official squad for the upcoming FIFA U-17 World Cup in Qatar.
