3561It is projected that 21 billion cubic meters of gas will be delivered to consumers this winter. This announcement was made during a meeting chaired by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on November 15, which focused on ensuring uninterrupted energy supplies for the population and economic sectors while enhancing the efficiency of industrial enterprises.
Tasks related to these goals were initially outlined during a video conference on June 10. At the latest meeting, officials provided updates on the progress made and preparations underway for the autumn-winter season.
In line with rising demand, gas is being supplied at volumes that meet the needs of both the population and the economic sectors. Network modernization and improved energy efficiency have significantly reduced losses. For instance, gas consumption in industrial production has decreased by 1.6 times in recent years.
However, challenges remain. Ensuring sufficient energy reserves to meet current and future demand is a priority. Discussions at the meeting highlighted the necessity of providing reliable energy sources to the population throughout the season.
To guarantee an uninterrupted energy supply for social institutions and enterprises, a dedicated reserve has been established. A system for the targeted distribution of natural gas to thermal power stations, chemical and metallurgical plants, and gas filling stations is now in place.
The meeting also emphasized the need to continue efforts to reduce losses through rigorous gas accounting and control measures. Regions such as Andijan, Navoi, and Tashkent have successfully implemented gas-saving practices, with plans to extend these measures to other areas.
President Mirziyoyev instructed officials to address energy supply issues at the district and neighborhood levels, ensure coordination between demand and consumption, and prevent interruptions.
Transformation in the gas sector was another key topic of discussion. It was decided that network enterprises will independently enter international financial markets to attract funds for modernization.
Digitization and private partnerships are seen as crucial opportunities for modernizing and regulating gas networks. Proposals to involve private operators in the gas sector were reviewed during the meeting.
The President directed officials to focus on cost reduction, optimization, and acceleration of the transformation processes across all sectors and enterprises. He stressed the importance of attracting leading foreign companies and expanding geological exploration to secure the country's energy future.
