Uzbekistan plans to admit over 700,000 children to the 1st grade for the 2024-2025 school year, according to the Ministry of Preschool and School Education as reported by QALAMPIR.UZ.
The republic has 10,182 general education schools, serving over 6.4 million students.
For the 2024-2025 academic year, the plan is to admit over 700,000 school-age children to the 1st grade. So far, 511,484 applications have been received, with 64,831 submitted online and 446,653 offline.
The Agency of Specialized Educational Institutions oversees 14 Presidential schools, 9 creative schools, and 182 specialized schools and boarding schools, educating more than 70,000 students.
In the 2023-2024 academic year, over 732,000 children enrolled in the 1st grade.
